Diamond Visionics Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary

Vestal, NY – March 7, 2016 – Vestal‐based Diamond Visionics, a leading provider of cutting‐edge 3D visualization and image generation products and services, is celebrating its 20th anniversary of operations this month.  Two decades of work by our dedicated employees have transformed the modeling and simulation industry to where the best pilots and soldiers in the world train using Diamond Visionics products.

With over twenty years of experience at Singer‐Link, David P. Gdovin and David L. Peters founded Diamond Visionics in 1996. Initial plans called for creating surgical simulation technology for the medical industry, but the rendering technology was quickly repurposed by the U.S. Army to generate the simulation industry’s first dynamic terrain. The success of this  program and others resulted in Diamond Visionics receiving the Small Business Administration’s Tibbetts Award and began a long series of SBIR (Small Business Innovative Research) grants from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, the majority of which focused on image generation.

Today Diamond Visionics has a family of render‐from‐source products for military and commercial out‐the‐window (OTW), sensor (NVG, EO, FLIR) and radar. The GenesisRTX  dynamic construction engine procedurally builds 3D scenes directly from Geographic Information Systems (GIS) source data and eliminates the need for costly and time‐consuming off‐line database generation.

“We at Diamond Visionics are thankful to our many customers for making this anniversary possible,” said David P. Gdovin, President of Diamond Visionics. “Several customers and a core of employees who are motivated by this ever‐evolving technology have taken the entire journey with us. The past 20 years have been exciting, challenging and rewarding.”

Diamond Visionics’ anniversary caused David L. Peters (CTO Retired) to take pause and reflect back on starting the company and how Diamond Visionics has grown over the past 20 years. “I  have been a part of computer graphics image generation for flight simulation since the 1970s.  When we started Diamond Visionics 20 years ago, we were on the ground floor of PC‐based  image generation with the user in the loop, and I have found it an exciting road to the phenomenal scenes being generated today. Our friends and users in the industry have allowed us to gather an incredible team and we look forward with joy and excitement for the next 20 years”, said Peters.

Diamond Visionics prides itself on providing a positive work environment that energizes the  staff, fosters creativity and improves collaboration between our software developers to create and maintain the highest level of quality. Spearheading product development for Diamond Visionics is Tim Woodard, CTO and chief architect of GenesisRTX and longest‐tenured  employee. Tim will be marking his own 20th anniversary with the company this August. “This anniversary is a significant milestone for a company with such humble beginnings. I feel very privileged to have been involved from the early days and be a part of the evolution of our processes and products. It is truly fulfilling to work with this team on leading edge technology in an industry that exists to save lives. None of this would have been possible without our  excellent engineering staff, who share a unified passion for developing elegant solutions for complex problems. I’m excited to see what we will accomplish in the next 20 years”, stated Woodard.

Diamond Visionics will mark its 20th Year Anniversary with a few celebrations over the course of the year to highlight its success.  Diamond Visionics, LLC is a privately held small business based in Vestal, NY that produces cutting edge 3D visualization, image generation, and interactive source editing tools for the operational and simulation markets (GenesisRTX : GenesisIG, GenesisRDR, GenesisSN, and GenesisSDK).
