Diamond Visionics is part of a community focused on advances in high tech industry.  Once called the Silicon Valley of the east, the Greater Binghamton area is home to Lockheed-Martin Owego, BAE Systems, Rockwell Collins, IBM, CAE USA, Universal Instruments, and Raymond Engineering.  Many small high-tech companies are also located here.  Binghamton University, consistently ranked nationally in the top 20, is involved in cutting edge research across a number of fields.

Greater Binghamton offers a wide variety of activities and conveniences all nearby.  The airport is fifteen minutes from the downtown area.  Sports teams include professional hockey and baseball, along with Binghamton University Division 1 sports teams.   In addition, the City of Binghamton offers a thriving arts scene that includes a large theater where you can witness opera, plays, and concerts along with other smaller theaters and art galleries.  The Ross Park Zoo is home to a wide variety of animals.  Numerous golf courses, eclectic restaurants, coffee shops, micro-breweries, museums, parks, healthcare, and shopping is all close by. Large annual events include the Dicks Sporting Goods Open, the Spiedie Fest, the Luma Projection Arts Festival, and several church and ethnic festivals.  The scenic finger lakes are a short drive away and are home to dozens of wineries.  You will also find plenty of hiking and boating along the lakes and fishing throughout the area.  Housing is very affordable and ranges from downtown living to rural countryside farmhouses all within a reasonable driving distance to the towns that make up the greater Binghamton area.
